New pieces at the Boutique Warehouse!

We just added two lovely pieces to our booth at the Boutique Warehouse.  If you haven’t been to the store yet, stop everything you’re doing and GO! It is an awesome store!  Not only do they have adorable boutique clothing, but they also have several furniture and home decor vendors, including us! It is a very unique store.  It is located on Hwy 72 W in Madison–a few doors down from Chick-fil-A!

This first piece is so pretty–I really wanted to keep it.  We found this very old antique server on the world’s longest yard sale. It has some imperfections, but in my opinion , they just give this piece more character.  We did this server in antique white milk paint by General Finishes, and finished the top in “new pine” gel stain.  We added some sparkly knobs (of course) to finish it off.  In my opinion, it would be perfect in a kitchen as a little side server or even an island!  This was just put in our booth at the Boutique Warehouse, and is available for only $299!

Next up, we have this classic French style buffet.  This piece was also just put into our booth at the Boutique Warehouse, and it is available for $349! For this, we painted it in antique white with a java stained top.  You will notice that most of our pieces at the Boutique Warehouse are painted in a shade of white.  While we LOVE our colors, and you will see plenty of furniture painted in fun colors at our other booths, for some reason we love sticking to classic white at the Boutique Warehouse.  There’s something about our booth there that just calls for beautiful shabby chic white furniture.  We also distress the furniture there a lot more than we do at our other booths.  If you visit us, you will see that our booth set up is very shabby chic–old french doors, chandeliers, etc.  So we’re sticking with this theme, for now 🙂

That’s all for now! Keep checking back on our blog for information about new pieces!

We’re on snapchat!

Inventory added to University Pickers!

We just added several new pieces to our booth at University Pickers! These pieces are beautiful in person so don’t miss out.

This piece is so gorgeous! We found it on a little picking trip we took in Tennessee. I fell in love with the beautiful French Provincial details on the spot and knew we had to do something a little special for this piece

The main structure is painted in General Finishes Antique White milk paint (a fave), and the back of the hutch is painted in General Finishes Key West Blue chalk paint. The combination is striking! That little door you see on the middle portion of the hutch actually slides along that entire row so you can reposition it anywhere you want to hide what you want to (we always have some things in our desk we don’t want to display).  The hutch is also removable if you just want the simplicity of the white desk.

This piece measures 46″ wide, 31.5″ tall without the hutch, 71″ tall with the hutch, and 17″ deep. It is available for only $295!

Be still my heart! This gorgeous buffet is manufactured by Temple Stuart! It is solid wood and has excellent construction.

We loved the beautiful dark hardware on this piece, so we decided to go with General Finishes Linen milk paint, which is a classic “not white but not beige” color that is beautiful. Think of the color of your grandmother’s antique linens 🙂

This piece is 60″ wide, 36″ tall, and 19″ deep and is available for only $329!

I loooove functional little end tables. And this one is just that. It is a hexagon shaped end table that has storage inside. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t need more storage?

This piece is painted in a unique gray/beige color (greige if you will), and is available for only $69!

I can’t believe this beauty hasn’t sold yet! I absolutely love this dresser. It is painted in General Finishes Queenstown Gray milk paint. And the best thing about this dresser is that it actually has 8 drawers!  Right above the top two drawers that you can see are two “disguised” drawers that are built to look like part of the trim or molding. So you can hide your valuables there 🙂

The coordinating chest to this piece has already sold, but the dresser is still available for $349.

That is all we have for today! But exciting news…we are moving booths at University Pickers within the next month or so! We will be moving from the very back of the store to the very front! Our new booth will be in the new section of the store that is currently under construction, and we can’t wait to get it decorated and add new pieces for you. So check back for updates!

Current Funky Monkey Inventory

These are the details on the items we currently have available at the Funky Monkey Vintage Store, 7186 Hwy 72 W, Madison, AL 35758

Don’t forget in addition to our furniture, we have tons of small home decor items available too!

navy and white dresser

This piece is one of my favorites! It is made by Drexel, and is painted in General Finishes antique white and coastal blue milk paint.  The top is stained in General Finishes antique walnut gel stain, and the original hardware was painted in a bright gold.  This piece measures 42″ wide, 21″ deep, and 35″ tall and is available for $289.

pink cabinet

How adorable?! It’s hard to capture in a picture, but this cabinet is painted in a light green with some bright pink poking through.  You really have to see it in person to get the complete picture! On the top, we added a butcher block that has been stained in General Finishes java gel stain.  The knobs are sparkly and silver! This piece would be perfect in a home office, or even in a bathroom for storing linens.  It is available for $179.

gray dresser

This is a beautiful solid wood antique dresser that just needed a little love! For this piece, we painted it in our custom light gray and lightly distressed it.  The top is stained in General Finishes java gel stain.  This piece measures 54″ long, 20″ deep, and 36″ tall, and is available for $329.

P.S. If you ever see one of our items in a “custom color,” that means that we created the color ourselves! If you have your heart set on that particular color for a piece in your own home, just let us know and we would be glad to sell you one of our custom paints 🙂  And as always, we can do custom orders on your furniture!

Welcome to our new blog!

navy and white dresserWe have finally decided to start a blog to document our adventures in picking, refurbishing, and bringing new life to old and antique furniture! We can’t wait to get started, and we are going to do our best to keep this blog updated with our newest pieces that will include details such as price, dimensions, paint colors, etc.

Today, we start out with one of our most recent (and favorite) pieces.  This beautiful dresser was manufactured by Drexel.  We painted it using General Finishes Antique White milk paint around the sides and edges.  The drawer fronts are painted in General Finishes Coastal Blue milk paint.  We refinished the top and stained it in General Finishes Antique Walnut gel stain.  And for the final touch, we redid all of the original hardware in bright gold.

This piece screams “nautical” to me! I was a little unsure about the paint colors we chose before we started, but once it was all put together I absolutely loved it.  The dresser is solid wood and has very high end construction, including dove tail drawers.  It measures 42″ wide, 21″ deep, and 35″ tall, and it is available for only $289 at the Funky Monkey Vintage Store in Madison, Alabama!
